Our Commitment to Excellence

Gallus Medical Detox has created a protocol that addresses the ongoing opioid crisis, specifically Fentanyl, Heroin and other Opioids. Our goal is to help patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and Fentanyl addiction experience a more comfortable detox and have a shorter length of stay.

In addition, we honor the individual experiences of our clients—including past traumas and mental health issues—which is why we frequently use the phrase “dignity in healing.” Our goal is for clients to feel respected, heard, and welcomed as they embark on the challenging journey of addiction recovery.

The Gallus Method

Over our 10+ years in the addiction recovery industry, we have developed a proprietary regimen of oral and IV medications that help prevent and minimize withdrawal symptoms, leading to successful outcomes for our patients. We refer to this as “The Gallus Method.”

Our team monitors ever-changing drug trends, developing non-cross addicting treatments and tapering schedules that help ensure a safe and effective detox.

Withdrawal symptoms can vary depending on the type of drug used, the length of addiction, and other factors such as mental and physical health. Because of our experience with various addiction types, including polysubstance addiction, we are able to work with patients to customize treatment plans that fit their needs and circumstances.

As a destination for care, patients come to our Dallas treatment center from Texas and across the country. We are conveniently located near leading international airports and we provide ground transportation to and from our facilities in Dallas, Texas.

Gallus Medical Detox in Dallas, TX leads in patient satisfaction, aftercare, and treatment completion rates.

How Medical Detox Supports Addiction Recovery

Opioid withdrawal develops after the body—particularly the brain’s opioid receptors—has developed a chemical addiction to a certain level of opioids. Despite the fact that opioids are often used to treat discomfort, abuse can actually increase the body’s sensitivity. Attempting to take more opioids in order to deal with pain can lead to drug overdose deaths. Fentanyl withdrawal symptoms, like all opioid withdrawal, can include drug cravings, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain.

While the withdrawal symptoms for Fentanyl can be severe, they aren’t life-threatening—but they can be hard to get over. Our method includes supportive care as well as medications to address symptoms and prevent complications.

Patient Outcomes

Patients using the new AMI protocol for Fentanyl experienced a significantly lower Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale score (COWS), an 11-item scale designed to help clinicians measure the intensity of symptoms and determine the severity of opiate withdrawal.

We have found that the new AMI protocol has lowered Fentanyl patient COWS scores an average of 4.4 points, or 42% a day, over the three days prior to full detox. Additionally, the patient’s length of stay has decreased from 8 days to 7, allowing the patient to transition to aftercare more quickly. Our process for managing Fentanyl withdrawal symptoms is effective.

Do I Need Opioid, Fentanyl or Heroin Detox?

Many fear that Opioid detox will be uncomfortable and painful.

You will know if you need detox by seeking professional medical assistance from a qualified medical provider, who can best advise you based on your personal situation.

Detoxifying from addictive substances like opioids and prescription Fentanyl presents a number of potentially fatal medical risks, psychological challenges, and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.

We can help overcome these through effective, safe, and comfortable medical detox provided by addiction experts. Because of the way Fentanyl and other opioids work in the body, we can effectively treat Fentanyl withdrawal symptoms until the drug has had enough time to leave the patient’s system. Our process cuts down on the possibility of drug overdose deaths for our patients.

Our Dallas location is in-network with BCBS TX / Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

However we do not accept any types of Medicaid, Medicare or Magellan.
